Membership Information

    As a member of SHRM you have access to a myriad of benefits and information from the world's largest human resources organization. Being a member at the both the local and national level provides you an opportunity to access programs, services and a network of HR experts.  One of the goals of the Alabama SHRM State Council is to help local chapters with their membership needs. Another goal is to help Alabama SHRM members by providing them up-to-date information on local chapters, regional and state-wide events, and local and National HR resources, and contacts.

    How do I join a local Alabama Society for Human Resource Management chapter?

    Can you explain what it means to be a member-at-large?

    • A member at-large is someone who has joined the national SHRM organization but has not joined a local chapter.

    How do I get involved on the local or statewide level?

    • Leadership opportunities are often available through your local chapter and on the board of the State Council. Contact information for all chapter Presidents and State Council board members is available via this site on the AL Chapter and State Council links respectively. Feel free to call anyone listed to inquire about the various opportunities. We would love to have you join us!

    Does AL SHRM provide information about employment opportunities?

    • Many of the local chapters provide information about local job opportunities with its members. You can also check for nationwide opportunities through SHRM at www.shrm.org/jobs/
