    9:00 am - 10:00 am – Opening Session & Keynote Speaker: Julie Couret, Executive Coach "Breaking Barriers to Personal Achievement: Better Decisions for Better Results" is designed to empower Human Resources professionals by providing insights and strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve personal and organizational goals. Discover the practical tools and techniques for making better decisions, overcoming obstacles, and achieving your personal and professional goals, as well as actionable strategies for fostering a culture of growth and development within your organizations.

    10:15 am – 11:15 am – Learning Session: Michael Cowart, Jr., Managing Partner "Maxed Out not Taxed Out" How to recruit, reward and retain top executives keeps many a CEO (no matter the company size) up at night. We will provide tailored financial solutions to businesses that will address the restrictions that are a part of qualified retirement plans for corporations; the advantages of non-qualified plans, and how to most efficiently fund them at a neutral cost item to the corporation; and the different types of non-qualified plans and how to set them up.

    12:30 pm – 2:00 pm – Learning Session: Tae Phillips, Attorney "Marijuana in the Workplace 201: The Interplay between Disability Laws & Medical Marijuana" will address the relationship between medical marijuana legalization and disability discrimination/accommodation laws as medical marijuana cards are being issued in AL & MS, and claims have begun to arise in FL. This session will utilize a real-world case study to examine the difficulties in managing this issue and will also provide practical advice on mitigating risks.

    2:15 pm – 3:15 pm – Closing Session: Cierra Belser, Director of National Partnerships "Breaking Barriers: Inclusive Hiring Practices for Employers" In today's society, diversity and inclusivity are crucial aspects of creating a successful and thriving workplace. As an employer, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are providing equal opportunities to all individuals, regardless of their background or identity. In this hour-long presentation, we will discuss the importance of inclusive hiring practices and how they can benefit your company. We will explore different techniques for attracting a diverse pool of candidates, such as using inclusive language in job postings. Additionally, we will dive into ways to eliminate unconscious bias during the hiring process, including blind resume review and structured interviews. By the end of this presentation, you will have a better understanding of how to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes success.
